I think politicians lay awake at night thinking about what else they can tax us for. They won't quit until they tax the very air we breathe!
The most shameful thing is that no matter how much money they rake in they can never make ends meet. It's so easy to spend other people's money.

We could donate Baffin Is. as a research center for things that need absolute zero in their experiments. Perhaps a clay-pigeon disk thrower that is a supersonic drone being released and it is basically a flying grenade that has a variable timer and can be steered by a chess playing computer at the 53rd combat games. How much would that cost to install as the 'missiles' would seem to network linked. Perhaps this is the resurrection of the Arrow program only this time hyper-sonic.and space launches to be outside the radiation belt as far as being outside of the 'junk' between the earth and the belt. Having the natural spin a heavy launch should be possible and in the crisp dry air that could be an electro magnetic launch which starts out at hyper-sonic and is at orbit speed when it is slowed down. Once outside the belt the space station could set up orbit around the moon. Mining for heavy metal on this side of the moon might turn up some goodies in that area and the far side bight be lava rock that is very light and very strong. 'sponge rock' comes to mind.

That's why I think millionaires shouldn't be in office. They haven't a clue how to budget or how to stick to one
What do you suggest?? Lotto Winners would be cool as long as the winner(s) was truly random and then extinction is assured no matter what they suggest and all our troubles are over.

They already did. It's called carbon taxes and carbon pricing.
That isn't written in stone, we don't want to become a rebel nation like Cuba did some decades back.Without those the people would be getting a cheque from the PM for using NG as it keeps the lines from freezing up in the winter and tourism justifies it the rest of the time.

Did I mention that Hudson Bay became the Sanctuary for prisoners that don't mix well with others from a variety of nations rather than just the US Fleerers, all 30M of them in one big shot from all over the world.. No bunching up is the only rule. Happy fishing and Mexican are always ready to buy big blocks of ice for the customers.from the north and the far north. Far north has no carbon tax ever.

quitcher cryin and pay that tax
Now say it like the cheque to you from them is somewhat late.

So I'm curious as to how this is going to work. Are they going to tax the companies offering the benefits (like Blue Cross); are they going to tax the businesses (that provide the benefits to their employees?) or are they going to tax the employees (for the benefits they use?) I'm confused because if the employer already provides the benefits to employees and if they pay 50 or 100% of the premiums, the employees already pay taxes on the employers portion as taxable benefits.

In my case, my employer provides the benefits but the employees pay 100% of the premiums, so who is going to be taxed? And finally, if the providers of the benefits are going to be taxed, than it follows that the premiums will increase and everyone will pay (employers and employees). Because we're already taxed to death, the likelihood of employers dropping their portion of premium payments will definitely increase and more employees will lose what benefits they have so it's kind of a dumb idea - the consequences would end up back firing.

But, just curious and it'll be interesting to see what happens. But, typical Trudeau and his ilk, they have NO IDEA wtf they're doing!

It depends on how they got to be millionaires. If they had to earn it through sound business deals and investments then they have the know-how to handle money wisely.
If they got their money like Trudeau did, the haven't a clue. It's all taken care of by the 'Trust Fund' managers. It's doubtfyl if JT ever in his life had to know or care how much he spent.

We have Blue Cross for our extended health. Paid for by the employer so to us it is a taxable benefit. Never could figure out how it can be a benefit if it is taxable.

No actual article.

No actual plan in place yet and he in fact said himself that there's no decision on this yet, they are just looking at it.

Didn't mention that not everyone uses private healthcare to begin with (it is in fact the rich who use it most, not the middle class).

This is the shyt you guys actually buy into?

No wonder Ezra can't even afford a proper green screen for his studio.

No problem there! Just slap a tax on every source and they'll get you coming and going. Just like the payroll tax, they tax the employer for hiring you and tax you for earning your pay. That's how it works.
