the Liberals now support.

When Stephen Harper's Conservatives announced in 2011 they would unilaterally reduce health care funding by $36 billion, few Canadians other than one premier and the Fraser Institute applauded the move.

Now you can add another name to the list: Justin Trudeau's Liberal government.

On the heels of Environment Minister Catherine McKenna's revelation that Canada will not seek stronger targets for reducing carbon pollution beyond what the Harper government laid out last year, Trudeau's Liberals now say they're sticking with Harper's reduced health transfers too.

Speaking to CTV Question Period's Evan Solomon Sunday, Liberal Health Minister Jane Philpott gave the most definitive statement yet on an issue her party has been walking on eggshells around since last year's election – the Liberals will maintain Harper's lowered target for health transfers:

Surprised?

Maybe not – during the 2015 election campaign, the Liberals never actually committed to a concrete number on health transfers, even though the way Trudeau talked definitely left some vague impression he was planning to do something:
"We are committed to renegotiating, to re-engaging on the health care accords, on the Canada health transfer, with the provinces ... We need a federal government that is willing to sit down and work with the provinces, not dictate at the provinces but set clear targets and expectations."

It's called 'context', to show you that your boy JT and 11 of his friends are hypocrites for not improving the HealthCare for Canadians, just like his predecessor even though they claimed Harper and friends were hurting Canadians.....

Health Minister Jane Philpott says the Liberal government won't increase the health-care funding formula imposed by former prime minister Stephen Harper's government.

"That conversation is largely a conversation between finance ministers and at this point I have no reason to believe that we're going to change that," Philpott said in an interview with Evan Solomon, host of CTV's Question Period.

The provincial and territorial governments have been guaranteed six per cent increases in their transfers from the federal government since former prime minister Paul Martin struck a deal with them in 2004. In 2011, with the deal approaching expiration, the Harper Conservatives told the provinces and territories that they were cutting the annual increase, known as an escalator, to three per cent - with the possibility of more depending on the country's economic growth.

Take back the money sent to third world countries and put it into health care. Just a thought.

That is not cutting healthcare as many on the left try to claim. Just cutting the amount it increases.

JT had to look good to the rest of the world, which is the one thing that quickly became his number one priority, asa he realized that he was not wrong after all, he was 'really really good looking' and the world loves good looking people, he wanted to also appear like a man of substantial influence, giving money away is always a sure way to spread the love thicker and thicker. I'm just relief that JT and his group of followers are accepting that the previous plans put in place were done by experience people and might just have been put in place for a reason!

Another solution. Make infrastructure construction, carbon taxes, and income taxes a 100% municipal matter. If you do that, then cities like Toronto, Vancouver, etc. might introduce carbon taxes like Hong Kong's (100%) but maybe reduce income or other taxes to compensate so as to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and develop cycling and pedestrian infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Nowheresville BC could tax its locals as it sees fit to build its infrastructure and so could refuse a carbon tax if that is what it wants to do and support its infrastructure construction through income tax instead for example.

This could improve public health in cities where smog is a bigger problem.
