Pipelines. Let’s get at it. We need the work.

Turning away or slowing the creation of jobs seems counterproductive.

The earth is a sturdy place and we can build with her in mind. All we need do is add value to the project to accommodate conditions, including our environmental desires. We can make it so at whatever cost is involved. Profits will take care of things.

Let’s get at it. We need the work and spring is coming.

We will also need a lot of cash for the large immigrant populations coming in now and in the near future.

What we need is a National Energy Program that promotes the refining and processing of oil at home, instead of shipping unprocessed natural resources and jobs abroad to the benefit of international trading cartels.

We should nationalize the resource and establish publicly owned a primary processing industry as every sensible oil exporting nation has already done. That would be the reverse of PE Trudeau's retail based program. It would ensure jobs and taxes stay in Canada.. and prevent us from reinstituting a classic colonial economy.

Yeah. Let's all tell Albertans how to conduct their business because it went so well the first time around.

Last i heard Alberta was a province of Canada. Canadian law trumps that of its constituents parts. Oil is a strategic national resource not a provincial one. If Alberta is unhappy with that well let the pick up their guns and take on the Princess Pats.. we'll make short work of them.

Good points but in terms of balance of trade, it benefits both sides at present to move the cruder product.

I do think we should try to get more out of the construction though. I think Canada is behind in innovation and that we can do better.

Alberta should just join the USA.. Canada sucks anyhow, just full of idiot Liberals east of Saskatchewan ..

Why leaving Canada makes sense for Alberta, and U.S. would likely welcome a new state

Alberta would be better off if it joined the U.S.

Peter Zeihan says Alberta would be better off as 51st U.S. state

...and the message it getting through.

We are one country.

At least we are supposed to be. I would agree that we do not seem to act like one, unless there is a crisis.

Look at the levels of some law enforcement on cannabis. B.C has pot shops all over the place while some provinces are jailing some for Canadians for possession of small amounts. Although I hear that police are just walking on by most of it. They are brighter than politicians.

All the big oil payers in Alberta are American or Chinese so we aren't telling Albertans how to run things, the Americans and Chinese are telling Alberta how to run things.

We saw how the Americans reacted to the NEP which should have bolstered Canadian ownership instead of dismantling it and putting Albertans in the spot they are now......

So when are you going to build a refinery? Or a smelter or three so we don't have to send raw minerals overseas.
Hey I even know where there is a closed sawmill you could buy so we don't have to export so many raw logs.

UMM. NO . Oil, like all minerals is a provincial jurisdiction.

We are turning our children's future to outside countries
Yes we need an east west pipeline and a law that says
all natural resources need to be processed in Canada for
maximum profit before leaving the country.

So you going to build a refinery or a smelter? Or are just the idea boy and leave the heavy lifting to the real men?
