The police officers were responding to a call for help by a woman, but they went to the wrong address and beat the man severely. He's settled the lawsuit, but my concern is that the police decided not to hold an inquiry, which has caused the police commissioner to file an appeal. How can the police not hold an inquiry? The cops not only went to the wrong house, they outnumbered the man and beat him severely. Even if he was the right person, they obviously used excessive force.

All normal in Vancouver. OVer the years a great many people have suffered injuries falling down the stairs while riding up in the elevator to the cells.

F*ckin cops! This has become far too common and the cover-ups and lack of internal discipline make it worse. One day some cop is going to wind up dead over one of these incidents and then what will progress from there? There is gonna be a f*cking war between cops and citizens and I'll be glad I'm not in a uniform when it happens.

The gag order as conditional to the settlement just feels very wrong here.
Dude can't comment, but a spokesman for the police can state that they
believe he's happy with the settlement...and yet three years later the guy
is still messed up physically from this beating?
