Marois and Harper: Frenemies with benefits? - Politics - CBC News

Seems like a match made in heaven. Harper is very much in favour of decentralization, as is Marois, even if for different reasons.

As for the languages commissioner, both Harper and marois are probably on the same page their too to a certain degree (French in Quebec and English in the rest of Canada except for truly national institutions). Indigenous Canadians would likely be on board with that as a step forward (better to have to learn one official language than two, especially when they're both second languages to them).

They might find more in common than meets the eye.

Maoris is in favor of heavy centralization of government. In Quebec City.

True enough. Way too much. However, in relative terms, that's still decentralization from the federal level.
