LIBERAL LEADERSHIP CANDIDATE SCOTT YEE WANTS TO END SEPARATISM IN CANADA ONCE AND FOR ALL
VANCOUVER - Scott Yee says he wants to ban the separatist parties Parti Québécois, Bloc Québécois, and any other separatist political party from ever forming in Canada.
Provinces and territories will no longer be required to conduct themselves in both official languages and provide services in both French and English. The private sector will no longer be required to provide access to goods or services in both official languages. But the private sector will be required to follow each province or territory’s own language laws.
The Conservatives and the NDP are both soft on separatism, and under Scott Yee as leader of the Liberal Party, the 2015 general election in Quebec will be between the Liberals and the BQ, as every Canadian in Quebec who wants to end separatist parties once and for all, will be voting Liberal, and separatists will be voting BQ.
Politicians have been afraid to deal with the separatism issue, and Quebec leaders keep throwing out the decade referendum. "We won't talk sovereignty for a decade."
Canada is founded on multiculturalism: English, French, and at gun point, Aboriginal. Besides the fact that Quebec has already had two referendums, the question has to be asked: will Quebec ever stop demanding a referendum on separation?
And the answer is no. Why? Because a current generation cannot speak for future generations, they can only set the path to walk down; it will be up to future generations to decide whether or not to walk the same path.
So one day Quebec could decide to separate, the next, they could decide to rejoin Canada, then separate again, and then rejoin.
From a country breaking up, to neighbourhoods dividing based on differences, separatism has no end. Only through unity, and not division, will a country be able to reach its full potential.
