A friend sent this - and it makes sense in the screwed-up way things go....

Let's put the seniors in jail, and the criminals in a nursing home.
This way the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies, and walks, they'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc. and they'd receive money instead of paying it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance. Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes, and bring their meals and snacks to their cell. They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.

They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counseling, pool and education.

Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, P.J.'s and legal aid would be free on request.

Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens.

Each senior could have a P.C. a T.V. radio, and daily phone calls.
There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct, that would be strictly adhered to.

The "criminals" living in the nursing home would get lousy food, be left all alone, and unsupervised, lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week, live in a tiny room, pay $3,000.00 per month and have no hope of ever getting out. Justice for all.

This should make us think of what kind of world we created for ourselves.

Then maybe it's time the gov stop scaring the **** out of the seniors so they don't vote to spend their money fighting heavily dropping crime rates.

How many seniors can you house for the price of one airport x-ray scanner and the staff to operate it per year?

The law and order crap is just another way to frighten people into supporting ever growing
policing budgets. In many cases crime rates are dropping and people in jail for minor and
silly offences like pot, are driving up the inmate rolls. These issues do not require jail time.
Serious crimes should see special prisons, not new prisons, prisons adapted to warehousing
long time criminals. The society tax money should then be spent on rehabilitating those who
could be released into the streets after sentences have been served.
I think all citizens are entitled to medicare and even dental care, and the reason is if people are
healthy it costs us all less money in the long run.
Dangerous criminals, child molesters and organized violent criminals should never be allowed
back on the street period. The problem we have is not that we are paying to much or too little
taxes. The problem is what the money is being spent on. We need realistic priorities and that
won't happen any time soon unfortunately.

Pretty damn Ironic isn't it?
Criminals laugh at the justice system. Where is the real punishment in going to jail?
Seniors can't fight back, of course they are going to get walked on.
Who ever thought this was justice should be trown in jail ......ummm wait ....senior home.
