Daylight Saving Time starts March 8, 2009.
Do you love it or do you hate it or do you just plain not care? I love daylight saving time. I truly wish though that we could just "spring forward" and stay there as far as the time goes. I would rather not be into the back and forth aspect of the change but I really do like more light in the day.

Working midnights, I can't say that more light makes much of a difference(since I am trying to sleep and covering any sources of light), but on my days off...heck yeah, I LOVE extra daylight!

The one time we have daylight-savings time is in the summer when we don't need it at our latitudes. DST (double or triple) might make sense in winter. As far as an energy saver, it's a feel-good politically-simple action that accomplishes nothing.

Furthermore, two or three weeks after the start of DST traffic accidents increase.

I've asked it before and I'll ask it again, "What is this Daylight Savings
Time that you speak of?" Sppprrrinnnggg Forrrwwarrdd??? 8O8O8O

For me, twice a year, the TV schedule goes out of whack by an hour
and that reminds me to switch the batteries in my smoke detectors...
Unless you're in an occupation that deals with contacts outside of this
province (if you live here), that's the only clue that Daylight Savings
has struck again.

Except, Ron, for the bit by Lloydminster! If I were you, I'd wonder what Alberta's up to. Next, they'll sweep into Regina!

I agree that we should not be going back and forth as we really do NOT gain anything from changing the time.. I do care because it is proven that our bodies actually suffer from the time change so why bother if we actually gain so little.. Not worth it in my opinion..

They already do!!! In droves!!!! They come to visit their Families and to
visit the farms and towns that they grew up in before they left to find
work in the '80s & '90's...then they go back to where they planted their
new roots when the weekend is over. With the changing times, many are
coming home to stay, and bringing their new Families with them.

Your right! On Friday, on a long weekend, the Yellowhead or the Transcanada should be three lanes to Saskatchewan and one to Alberta. It must be a civilizing mission.

There's lots of little ones out here that say "worsh" when they try to
say "wash" and you just know that their Momma is from Alberta. It's
music to my ears, and if that's civilizing us while increasing the tax base
in Saskatchewan, I'm all for it!!!:lol::lol:

I love daylight savings time, good for all sorts of things, especially gardening and golf, as we golf late in the day, and in the summer we can golf till 9 p.m.
Evening outdoor activities for everyone is more enjoyable.

Well, quadruple daylight savings would allow you to golf until midnight!
But to be just a little contrary,
Daylight savings buggars up the early morning golf.

It's like a Swatch but made by the Croatians but they decided not to meld the product and the name of their nation for obvious reasons.

Thanks!

Not to be crotchety, but instead of daylight savings time, why don't we shorten the workday by one hour in the summer, so we'd get off work in time to golf, swim outdoors, play catch, and so on?!
This would have at least 3 additional benefits!
1. It would reduce the need to lay off workers by 12.5% in this recession.
2. There would be no need to disrupt sleep patterns.
3. "A happy workforce is a happy nation." - Pollyanna
