I have a relative who has nothing. I thought he'd be easy to buy for.

- Could buy him a tv but he won't have cable.

- Could by him a dvd player but he has no tv.

- Could buy him a digital camera but he has no computer.

- Could be him tools but he works in construction and has access to anything better I could buy him at Canadian Tire.

- Could buy him auto accessories but he's about to junk his car.

- Could buy him something for his house but he has no house, just a room.

Who would think it would be this hard to buy for person with nothing?

Gift card to Walmart - Mark's Work wearhouse - might need work boots or something warm? What's wrong with cash?

Backwater, Ontario.
 What's with buyin presents for these fringe relatives anyway?

What's he ever got for you?

..........Give it back..........

Problem solved.

But, if you're not pulling our leg, (Kreskins have been known to do that), I would second Said 1's suggestion of clothes, money, warm stuff, booze, bunchaweed, assistance in getting his own apartment.

Sounds like he lives a dreary life.

Off with you now, young Kreskin, and purchase that huge turkey which is even now starting to turn green in yon butcher's window. Merry ****ing Christmas.............ho ho ho

:snorting:(or if the turkey is gone, a little piggy for the roasting)

I would go with the gift certificate idea. Then they can buy whatever they like or need.
I love certificates. They are always the rights size and colour.

I think cash would be just the thing. That way he will buy something he really needs or wants, and maybe even be grateful to you.

Wal-Mart gift certificates are great because they can be applied to such a wide variety of stuff.... so long as the person can get to Wal-Mart. In some cities, bus service doesn't run to the distant box store locations. Mark's Work Wearhouse is another good choice if someone with an outdoor job doesn't have the money to be buying good winter gear.

Another option is to ask them flat out... "what are you needing the most?"... you might get a straight answer.
