Three members of the Canadian Forces passed away early this morning when, during a search-and-rescue training exercise in the Province of Nova Scotia, their helicopter crashed. Both The Right Honourable Stephen Harper, P.C., M.P., the Member for Calgary Southwest and the Prime Minister of Canada, and The Honourable Gordon O'Connor, P.C., M.P., the Member for Carleton—Mississippi Mills and the Minister of National Defence issued statements in relation to this tragic event.

I know that Canadians agree with both the Prime Minister and the Minister, in that Canada most certainly mourns this lost. This is a stark reminder that our Forces are not only lost abroad, but they also risk their own lives training and developing their skills to protect our nation domestically. In both our national defence and our initiatives abroad, our Forces are risking their lives and displaying tremendous courage and bravery—let us commend them.[color=blue said:The Hon.
