I often read other forums on the net, some are somewhat related to Canadian Content and others are vaguely similar. But what I can't seem to understand is why the other guys are always getting the chance to bash the Canada bashers who lurk the web.

Why don't we get any here??!! Look at CKA and you get atleast a few newbie Canada bashers per day. Here, zip, zilch... nada!

I know CC isn't really known for flame wars, but a little hot topic arguing is sometimes enough to get your fingers typing 200 words per minute!

Cool...then we can call you "Euro-trash," and you can respond by ridiculing our weather and we can...Oh nevermind. It just seems like to much work. ;-)

Anybody want to come help me shovel my driveway?

Sure, Rev. We have 12 shovels and snow every 3 years. Do you know the shovel limits the airlines' enforce? There will be Zen & I plus a dozen of our closest friends and yes, we will shop the duty-free-store on our way. And no, we won't be bringing cigs. XXXOX

I seem to have misplaced my gloves. Max is smiling a lot, so I'm guessing he's put them to my missing slipper. Shovelling is really going to suck today. I'm going to have to do it soon though...I have no beer and I'm lighting my smokes on the toaster.

I'm going to have a hell of a time just getting outside...both doors are snowed in. I'm likely going to have crawl out the dog door then hop the fence.

:D  Rev, I haven't been here in a couple of days so I missed this post. I've got this mental image of you wriggling through a doggy door, last brew in one ungloved hand and one slipper on. You gotta teach those dogs to FETCH rather than steal! You could end up with quite a nice collection from the neighbourhood. Especially if you can teach them to steal beer and cigs for ya! ;)

My sympathies for your snow problems. Here we have green grass, sunshine, are still wearing shorts ... ok, enough west coast bragging. ;) We actually had frost on the windows one morning last week. I took one look at that and crawled back into bed until the weather became reasonable again!

Hope you were able to tunnel your way out to get beer, smokes and new year munchies!

Weird is correct, Miss Pod. I have a strange kind of insomnia when I'm stressed ... fall asleep fine, but wake up at strange hours. I went to bed around 3 so this is waaaaaay to early to be up!

I look forward to your visit. :) Don't forget to bring my camera with you ... we'll get some New Year shots! I still have you toque here.

Andem ... maybe the Canada bashers are scared of ya? Do you have a rep out there we haven't heard about? ;) Run around breaking kneecaps of troublemakers? Must be something since I have noticed everyone here is remarkably well behaved.

I think next year I'm going to have to figure out how the snow-blower attachment goes on the antique walking tractor. I'm getting too old for this whole shovelling thing and the big green truck doesn't run anymore so I can't use it to just pack the driveway down. The little blue truck is useless in the snow and I don't want to burn the clutch out of it.

I did manage to find a pair of unlined work gloves, but I did have to crawl out the dog door. It was either that or take the window out of the screen door. I got the car shovelled out though. Then I tried to drive to the Esso station to buy a lighter. Got stuck twice doing that. Then I went to the off-sale to buy beer. Got stuck in the parking lot there when I stopped to push somebody else out. Then I went to the movie place. Got stuck there too.

I saw something cool though. A cop decided that he was invincible and tried to smash through a snowbank the plough left at the entrance to the police officer station. The cop car was like a big teeter totter with lights on top when I drove by, and all the cops were standing there looking at it. 8O

I don't know how you guys live in a land without a real winter. The sameness would drive me scooters.

Allright, you want Canada bashing:

You liberal nutcases, english muffins and frogs! You're weather is terrible, you socialist commies. Hummm...

And, uh, yeah, your health care! Do you realise how much tax you pay for that? That's why you can't compete in the world, you spineless pacifist northerners! And just look at how you treat Muslims at security checkpoints! No wonder America got attacked. And then you've got the whole Gay marriage thing goin' on and....

Whew, this Canada bashing really is tiring. I guess I really do need more practice, but then again, I've got better things to do with my time than hone the art of Canada Bashing!

Well, Rev, some might say I have already arrived at that point of insanity, although it feels suspiciously like nirvana to me .... lack of seasons is a good thing. I hate cold. My preference would be to live somewhere like the Caymans where it's perfect year round but, alas, I am trapped north of the 49th.

Too bad you didn't get a pic of that cop car ... would have been entertaining. :)

Did you REALLY crawl out the doggy door? I thought you were just kidding about it! That much snow .... can't even go there in my imagination.

We get our rain for winter, but some of us love the rain, plus we don't have to shovel it, just divert it sometimes :p. All things are good in lotusland rev

Good job, Machjo...keep it up and maybe you'll get a show on Fox.

Did you REALLY crawl out the doggy door?

Yes I did. It's only the second time I've had to do that in my fifteen years in this house, but both the front and back doors face west , so they tend to get snowed in together. The dogs thought it was great fun though and expressed their glee by wrestling with me on the way out.

Hey rev if we want snow we just gotta drive an few hours up the road, and go skiing.

That's not the same as real winter though. I don't ski...not even cross country anymore. The ice and snow are a character building experience though. Plus I get to listen to my neighbour fire up his sled at 4:30 in the morning. I live in a neighbourhood where people snowmobile right out of their front yards. It's cool.
