Justin Trudeau says Liberal culture has changed

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau says the party's drop in support in the last 10 years or so can be put down to too much navel-gazing.

Trudeau said Saturday the Liberals were more concerned during that time with their own fate rather than that of Canadians.

He said that attitude illustrates why the party went from 172 seats in 2000 to its current 35-member caucus.

"The biggest problem was that we...started thinking more about ourselves than we did about Canadians," Trudeau said at a meeting of the party's Quebec wing in Victoriaville, Que.

He told reporters he believes he has changed that culture since becoming leader in April 2013.

"Despite all the media, the social media, the advertising, it's the work on the ground and the human contact that count," he said.

Trudeau refused to criticize his predecessors' policies over the last decade.

The Liberals have only eight of the 75 seats in Quebec and Trudeau acknowledged they have bridges to rebuild in the province.

"Not only will Quebecers be present in my government, they will be listened to.

"It won't just be a prime minister from Quebec but there will be ministers from Quebec in strong positions."

Just-in is right about a lot of that. The Liberal party became more interested in maintaining its power base than what is good for Canada. However it will be a long time until the country moves as far left as the Liberal party.

Justin Trudeau says Liberal culture has changed

Let's see:

Justin says one thing, does another (Says he is against long gun registration after he voted for it every time)

Justin claims a grassroots nomination process, then gets involved in nominations and forbids pro-life candidates.

Justin claims no top down rules, then he fires all the Liberal senators from caucus all on his own.

Justin talks out of both sides of his mouth on the development of the oil sands.

Justin thinks Quebecers are better than other Canadians.

Justin loves communist murderers.

Justin believes in "soft power" with terrorists.

Justin's last name is Trudeau.

I'd say the Liberal Party of Canada is still just about the same, except there is an idiot running the show.

They just need to get elected to go back to stealing.

And the Cons are immune to this, I suppose. There is a reason they call it a 'con" job.

Liberals are still ahead of the Cons by a fair margin since this announcement.

Baby Teflon.

Give it time.

Negative advertising, of which Trudeau has seen very little, is meant to plant the seed of an idea in the voters' head.

"Justin is in over his head"

If the ad has some truth to it, the target will re-inforce it by his own actions.

As Trudeau is doing SO well.

The Kid (intellectually speaking) is an idiot.

Anyone that would vote Liberal while Trudeau is leader is either also an idiot, not paying attention, or simply does not care about Canada...................

I still have enough faith in democracy to believe the current Liberal standing in the polls will crash before election time.

That is how the Conservatives gained and maintained power. It is apparently what is necessary.

High minded ideas backed by research and consultation apparently get you 35 seats in the house of commons.

Iggy had a commanding lead heading into an election and was viewed by most Lieberals as undefeatable. He gave Harper his first majority.

I'm going to bet he will be the first PM in Canada to be assassinated. He enrages the right to much. Some crazy crack pot will give it a shot..

Way crazier people seems to have a lot more hate for Obama, yet he is still kicking.
