Ever wonder what a hoser is?

Most of us know who these guys are but do you know what a hoser is?

I recently found out that hoser is a term that is local to me in Regina.

Well here it is, a hoser is somebody who steals gasoline by syphoning.

"Hoser" is the loser in a hockey game, that has to hose down the ice.

Although I'm sure there are many arguable origins.

That's the one that I heard too. But I think generically we tend to use it to describe someone that would be a total loser but he's just so darned Canadian about it that we cut him some slack.

If that makes any kind of sense at all. Lol.
