Alright locking old threads is a great idea. How much time do we want to give a thread until it becomes locked? 1 month after last post? 6 months after thread creation? Any ideas?

I'd say a month or so after the last post.

Yeah they're still visible for viewing. It's just now no longer possible to reply to a post from 2002 (or 2009, for that matter) that hasn't had any replies in the past 3 months. Enough of the drive-by posters who bring up old threads to pollute our recent threads list.
