Incase anybody is wondering what the bar at the bottom of the page is, it's an online chat system integrated with the forums. Your confirmed friends will be listed in the Online Chat tab and you'll be able to go offline or invisible chat at anytime.

It's still very much beta and I have a lot of testing to do. Be reminded that it's a type of facebook chat clone so there is a bit of lag and it's not perfect, but quicker than sending short PMs.

Where did the chat line come from

What's going on? I see a chat line and I can type on it but I don't know how to get through to the person I think I'm chatting to!! When did we get this and how do we use it?

It came as quite the surprize to me. Sorry - I started a thread because I didn't see this one. How does the chat line work. I typed a line to a friend and hit enter but that was it. Is that what we do? Please explain.

As long as someone is on your "Friends" list, you can go to the
"Who's Online" area on the Main Page of the Forum and click on the
username of that person & have an instant conversation outside of PM's
& such.

Okay. I've read Andem's blurb but I really still don't quite understand how this all works. I came on line - saw this and saw that Cliff was on line. I typed a quick line to him and I'm not sure but he may have said "wait a sec" and then I went off of that and I clicked on Spade's and asked him much the same question but he didn't answer so I felt that no one could see what I was typing. So we click on a user name. So if I was to click on say - your name, we could chat? Do we have to go invisible for no one else to see the chat and if we don't does everyone get to see the chat? I've been on chat lines before but this seems different.
I thought I understood from Andem that we could chat with anyone. Are you saying they have to be on our list?

Something weird is happening now. I cannot click on anything like my profile etc. It's like it all frozen. In fact, on my computer, this whole page is kind of distorted. I thought it was because I like my print bigger than many people do but it doesn't even show that you have asked me to be a friend and where did that message go anyway? I was in my profile looking at friends and invited you and then I could not get out for a few seconds.
