OK so we now have several suggestions. here they are:

1) based on cleverness:
0-50 posts: newbie
50-250 posts: member
250-500 posts: bright spark
500-750 posts: clever clogs
750-1000 posts: genius
1000-1500 posts: supergenius
1500-2000 posts: mighty intellect
2000-2500 posts: knows too much
2500-3500 posts: knows no bounds
3500-4500 posts: ponderous intellect
4500-6000 posts: steven hawking's tutor
6000-7500 posts: steven hawking's hero
7500-10,000 posts: running out of ranks (i always liked that one)
10,000 + posts: don't bother arguing. I KNOW.

2) sea critters-based:

0-50 posts: virus
50-100 posts: bacterium

I left out the military one cos i'm only allowed ten options in a poll and it seemed wrong for such a liberal and free forum anyway. if you don't agree please say so. some of them need extra levels i think but that can be arranged.

i keep telling you all, it's fun. Anyway maple weren't you the one who said you like the ubergod stuff and wondered where it went?

we all KNOW it's not a real ranking system, it's just something to amuse us. no-one's goign to say oh no you're just krill, i wont take any notice of you.

can't we just enjoy something light-hearted for a while? what harm will it do to take a vote?

Just a note on the sea creatures, we have no strata between fish and shark, maybe that was discussed in the other thread. Maybe change the fish to herring and the one between could be tuna? I know Hermann you didn't want suggestions, I couldn't resist.


Edit: My bad, I see that fish is supposed to be between krill and shark.

Thanks for all the work you put into this... I think the members for the most part will really appreciate it, I know the mods do... and you're right - it adds a l'il levity to the place.... also thanks to all who contributed ideas for the new ranking system. Good work!
