VANCOUVER — The B.C. Commissioner for Teacher Regulation has suspended a Vancouver-area teacher who's been disciplined several times for inappropriate behaviour — including playing a Valentine's "kissing game" with students.
Between 2008 and 2010, Chung Yuk Ma — then a teacher at Vancouver's Dr. George M. Weir Elementary School — received three short suspensions, issued for inappropriate physical actions, teaching Grade 3 students a Lady Gaga song with sexually suggestive content and playing a "kissing game" with children, according to the decision.
Ma dressed as cupid and shot children with her cupid's arrow, requiring the child to kiss her or vice versa.
In November 2010, Ma was observed sitting with two Grade 4 students on her lap, "bouncing them up and down on her knee for approximately one minute."
The following month, Ma went on medical leave and has not taught since.
The school district terminated her employment the following year.
In the most recent decision, the commissioner suspended Ma's teaching certificate until she can satisfy requirements that she is able to carry out professional duties.

Don't worry. She's a woman. All sorts of excuses will be made for her along the lines of "She's recently been having problems in her private life" or "She's mentally unstable and needs treatment" or "It's important that we treat her with compassion and understanding and find out why she did these things to give her the help she deserves" and she'll get away with it scot free.

Point out any inaccuracies in my post and I'll gladly change them. I hate being inaccurate. Thankfully, it's a mercifully rare occurrence.

I didn't say you were inaccurate, I said you were a bitter, whingy little self-pitier.

But, since you asked. . .

Losing a job and having your professional certification suspended ain't "getting off scot free."

Would you like a list of American and Canadian female teachers currently serving prison sentences for having sex with students? I promise it won't dent your certainties. Nothing could do that.
