Cult films are known for their dedicated, passionate fanbase, an elaborate subculture that engage in repeated viewings, quoting dialogue, and audience participation. Inclusive definitions allow for major studio productions, especially box office bombs, while exclusive definitions focus more on obscure, transgressive films shunned by the mainstream. In the cult classic 80s era film 'They Live', wrestling star turned actor Rowdy Roddy Piper finds a pair of sunglasses that demonstrate how the world is different than what they perceive - its filled with strange aliens that are controlling the world by producing and broadcasting a hypnotizing television broadcast. Some of the iconic imagery from this film transcends the movie and appears on TShirts and Internet Art Memes.

The prize is a guaranteed sale for $500 to Toronto Agency, Jib Strategic Marketing agency which is buying the piece the crowd considers 'best'.

• Artists can submit up to 3 pieces
• Maximum selling price $300
• #Hashtag Gallery earns 30% commission on sold work
• All skill levels welcome, but Hashtag admin will be curating the show and cutting pieces that don’t fit with the theme.
Show runs November 6th-9th
