Moving from Montreal to ECalgary

Hi! I am considering moving to Calgary to work there as a Respiratory therapist. I don't know anything about calgary except for its high wages and I would like to know what are the best neighborhoods that are safe and quiet to live in. I also need to know where are the best places to shop and also what would you suggest to me? Renting an appartment or sharing an appartment?
