I can't recommend this movie enough. TheYoung at Heart movie trailer gives an idea of the movie, but imo it doesn't do it justice at all - it's far too 'polished' to properly represent this documentary.

Young at Heart
is a surprising, uplifting and poignant inside view of a senior's choir group for several weeks leading up to a performance - sharing with us alternately the often painful realities of aging and the hilarity that can be found in the frailest of human moments.

These are not by any stretch professional singers or actors - they're our mothers, uncles, grandparents - and ultimately, they're us.

This is so worth the price of a movie rental.

I'll maybe catch it on DVD sometime, I don't like old people that much, they smell bad they're crumpy and they're always complaining about the weather oh **** that's me.

DB - I downright dare you to watch this movie and tell me you didn't like it or the people in it.
I Double-beaver-dog-dare ya.

In fact, I'll do even better than that - if you watch this movie and post an opinion on it, I'll watch something you recommend and post my thoughts on it.

ok?

:p

haha - good!

It's a new release - 2 night rental at Blockbuster. I imagine other movie rental stores carry it as well.

I'll wait with baited breath to find out what you'll have me watching. :p

I'll watch pretty much anything DB... yes, foreign films too, as long as I can rent 'em without having to scour the city for a copy.

No I wasn't. I have no such collection forigne or otherwise. I find the material disturbing in a primal manner. Rest assured I will suggest an artistic tastefully done contemporary piece.
Still the market rules Zan. Tomorrow could be the end of a way of life, make no mistake about that. Skys are falling, the gnashing of teeth begins and the babbling of tongues intensifies as we approach the apex of corruption and the final determination of capitalism. I see it's almost brunchtime.

I'll consult my audio visual team and select a title suitable for a lady of your distinction. Perhaps it can wait till tommorrow. There is never any time to waste is there? Oh look it's lunchtime, not for me but my six pigs one more twenty-five lb basket of apples, that makes seventy-five lbsince breakfast. and they are outstripping my ability to gather the apples. Since the middle of august I have stuffed a thousand lbs into thier bottomless stomachs and still they love apples.

lol DB - well since I've already seen Pan's Labyrinth, I'll see if I can find City of Lost Children and/or Delicatessen. Both look promising - I admit to a fondness for black comedies so Delicatessen already looks enticing.

Will also look for Brazil and Richard III - seems you share my penchant for comedy with a twist. I expect I'll enjoy any of these little gems.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely report back to you on one of 'em soon - depending on availability.
