A New Mexico sheriff who is running for mayor of Albuquerque was interrupted in bizarre fashion during a recent campaign event when a flying drone with a sex toy attached to it buzzed around the stage as he spoke.
If that wasn’t enough, Bernalillo County Sheriff Manuel Gonzales was also the recipient of an alleged punch to the hands.
Gonazeles’ campaign said the Democrat was unharmed and “will not be intimidated,” according to The Associated Press.

The Albuquerque Journal reported that a video posted on Facebook shows Gonzales fielding questions from the audience while standing on a stage at an events centre when the drone bearing the sex toy approaches.
The owner of the event centre grabbed the device and 20-year-old Kaelan Ashby Dreyer unsuccessfully tried to snag it before turning his attention to Gonzales, swinging his first and calling him a “tyrant,” according to a sheriff’s office report.

A deputy said Dreyer punched the mayoral candidate’s hands and was then removed from the premises.
Gonzales said the flying sex toy “became so distracting from the sound and everything I couldn’t really get my point across.”
Dreyer has been charged with petty misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

Gonzales suggested the stunt with the drone might have been sent by the rival campaign incumbent Mayor Tim Keller, also a Democrat, though Keller’s campaign condemned the stunt as “disruptive, rude and immature” and denied any involvement.
No immediate word on the would-be mayor’s campaign platform, but we’re guessing, if elected, he will immediately set out to ban flying sex toys and punches to Albuquerque mayors.
