The world's largest iceberg - bigger than London - has just collided with the British territory of South Georgia in the southern Atlantic.

South Georgia is part of Britain and there are fears that the iceberg could put the island's huge colonies of penguins and seals at risk...

If you count overseas territories such as South Georgia and the Falklands and Bermuda etc then Britain doesn't have a larger land area than Canada but it has a much larger area than Canada in terms of span about the globe.

I can go from Manchester to an island in the south Atlantic and still technically be in the same country. It's amazing.

In much the same way, France has more time zones than any other country.
