We live in Nanaimo and last week we went over to Vancouver to see the grand kids. My wife stayed longer than I so I had to pick her up a few days later at the ferry terminal in Nanaimo. I arrived just after the ferry had pulled in and I rushed in to the parking lot and found that I had no change for the parking meter. There is no coffee shop or anything so I went into the terminal and lined up at the ticket booth to get some change. I stood in line for ten minutes and was told they didn't give out change. About that time I saw my wife coming up he corridor from the ferry so I took her suitcase and we headed back to the car. I got to the car after a total of maybe fifteen or sixteen minutes and there was a ticket on the window. The ticket was $27.00 if I paid it within three days.....If I didn't pay it in three days it went up to $50.00. If I had had the change it would have cost me a dollar. I paid the damn ticket but I think this is some of the worst gouging I have seen because who would park longer than an hour in a stupid ferry terminal?
