Woman charged with murder in QEW traffic death

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. — A 51-year-old Hamilton, Ont., woman is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a fatal crash on the QEW last Monday.
Provincial police said Terri Nichols, 51, was charged following an investigation into a single-car crash that happened shortly after 8 p.m. in the Buffalo-bound lanes in Niagara Falls.
Lincoln resident Gordon Hall, 33, was ejected from a Buick Allure when it crashed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A Grimsby, Ont., man, 33, was also ejected from the car and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said Nichols was driving.
According to previous reports, Hall was hit by a second vehicle after being thrown from the Buick.
Nichols is charged with one count each of second-degree murder, attempted murder, criminal negligence causing death and criminal negligence causing bodily harm. She was being held for a bail hearing.
