There are tons of different factors which make when deciding on what to call home. For me, it's culture and politics. Political groups cannot be too radical like they are in some countries and the culture (IMO) has to be REAL.

Anyways, I wanted to get a feel on where you would like to live OTHER than Canada? What would you like to call home if Canada was no longer a choice? Please vote and explain your decision!

For the record, I would choose Europe as the culture is that of my own and the politics are more about the people than they are the corporations... Much like Canada!

Where in Europe? There are several places: Germany (well, I'd love to move back), Switzerland (I LOVE Swiss democracy! Love it!), Scandinavia (Ditto reasoning on Switzerland).

Sincerely I would pick south america. Why? because of the landscape. I could have alot of adventures there, serious ones to. I would like to see a jungle and who has not wanted to go down the amazon river. It still has places no one has probally ever seen. South america would be my choice. But I am never leaving the island. :p

RE: Where would you rathe

I picked Europe, but I think if I had to move I'd have a look at New Zealand. Fairly progressive government, no malaria, no major conflicts etc.

I picked the Carribean. I figured if I can't have Canada I want somewhere completely different. That way I could pretend to be on vacation for years.....

Scandinavia (Ditto reasoning on Switzerland).
And because I'm feeling a wee bit pedantic....Scandanavia isn't a country. lol Sorry. Sometimes I just have to do this stuff. I don't know why.

I wasn't referring to just one country. Scandinavia is Denmark, Sweden & Norway :p Either of those three would do.

I see, looking at the Results, that Canadians prefer Europe. Interesting

Well there are only 10 votes. But that's just a sampling of this forum. It may be different if you went and interviewed 1000 random people on the streets. Who knows :)

I think that most Canadians would go for the US  admit it! (...) I wonder what the answer of most Europeans will be. I think that if one would ask all Europeans that they had to move outside of Europe, which country or continent they prefered to go to, many would definitely prefer Canada ... along with the US I guess ... and Australia & New Zealand of course ... maybe some will go to Latin America ... or Asia ... but I do think that Canada will be among the top list :)

No Rick, there are not a lot of Canadians that I know personally who would want to move to the United States, especially right now which GWB in power. It might be different in regions though, like I would imagine more Albertans would rather live in USA than Europe. It's just Canada and Europe same many moral values and principles... and social structure.
