Hi I am wondering where I can still buy 72pin ram? I havent had much luck finding any aside from ebay which is outrageous pricing and expensive shipping. If you know please let me know. I need to make a ram update. can i just buy 1 chip of ram or do i need 2? Someone told me i could just buy 1.

Well I know of one site that is very resonably priced and you can make offers on ANYTHING on the site.. it is http://www.vfxweb.com I have delt with them before, they run a top notch service. Note: a lot of their stuff is used, but I havent had any problems with them in the 10-15 transactions I have done with them. I would recommend them to everyone. Shipping is fairly cheap and arrives quickly as well.

If you have a 486 system (or one of the first pentium systems) you can use 1 stick of ram, however anything above the Pentium 66Mhz motherboards requires 2 pairs of EVENLY matched ram. So you could put in 2 64mb chips, but not 1 32mb chip and a 64mb chip.

And as always buyer beware. Shop around before you purchase anything, make sure they have some kind of DOA warranty policy. Read it and know it well.
