When's the Election?

The BQ wants to go the polls. The Conservatives want to go to, but they don't want to seen to be forcing it. The Liberals are making every bill into a close call, but that should stop soon. The NDP don't want an election, but they won't vote for things they don't like just to save the government.

So when are we going to the polls? I'm betting on the spring.

I think the Bloc & the Conservatives will content themselves by letting more and more dirt come out against the Liberals. Mr. Dithers himself will never make a decision to go to the polls. So it'll be the fall before any election is held.

It's the population decision. It will all depend on how people will react when it will all come out, hopefully today at 14h.

But it could happen they only reveal parts of the testimony. So we may not even all know today. It's all very sad. A good decision would be to wait for the commission to end.

BQ worked so hard over the years to have this commission and to see the thruth. I'm sure they can wait couple of months without problem. Canada should be greatfull to BQ for pushing this issue so hard. Most English Canadian ignores that.

If things are as bad as they seems, election should be very soon. But I don't understand people saying that by striking an election, it would end Gomery commission. Why? I don't get it.

Let's not forget that the Conservatives don't stand a chance in Québec. It's very important. They need seats here, and they know they didn't make any progress.

I agree. Harper should stop wasting his time "selling out" in QC, and focus on Ontario and the Maritimes.

I think the Conservatives have talked themselves into a corner. Their core supporters, the radical right, are going to demand an election.

If the Liberals survive the budget implemetation bill...which is strictly up to the Conservatives since the BQ and the NDP have said from the beginning that they would vote against it...then the BQ will likely introduce a motion of non-confidence. They've been cranking up the rhetoric.

Harper will have to decide between going against his core supporters, who are largely politically unsophisticated and think they can win, and parroting the Liberals', "Wait for Gomery to finish," line. Harper has no record of going against his core supporters.

Conservatives are showing how stupid they are by wanting to go to the polls. This crap with Grewal and I expect some grand quotes from Strahl or White during the campaign, to sink them like last time.

I will vote NDP this time 100% and volounteer my services to help whoever runs in my riding to get in.

Basically an election in the next few months won't change what we have now so its a waste of money and time to go to the polls this soon. Harper will win as many seats in Quebec as the Bloc will win in Alberta. I also can not see him making any gains in Ontario either or the maratimes and he will lose more seats to NDP here in BC., Just my 7 cents.

My riding is safe. I'm thinking of going to Sakatchewan for at least a while during the next campaign. My mother's riding is always short-handed and I know where all the signs go.

That depends on how much work I have to do though.

Who are going to vote for in the provincial election no1?

NDP. I voted for Jagrup Brar in the by election last October and he won quite handily over the Liberal Mary Pollock who was school board chairperson. She must be on Campbells good side as she is running in Langley now.

Also for some reason the Liberals have no candidate for my riding yet, (Surrey Panorama ridge) but that makes no diference to me as I will never vote Conservative/Social Credit people disguising themselves as Liberals.
