I'd just leave the twenty. Actually I never would thrown it in the garbage at Safeway...I'm notorious for never cleaning out my pockets. That's part of the reason why I don't wash Mrs Rev's clothes...she says they come out dirtier than they go in.

I would also never just throw stuff out in the garbage. If it's receipts or business cards, they are usually sorted then thrown into my junk drawer that I can anually, if that.
Then the money would probably go into my loose cash box to be spent another time
