What do your kids wear?

I was at my neighbourhood plaza one day and saw this man and his son. HILARIOUS. THe man was in his preppy wear (dress shirt, cargos, fancy sunglasses, SUV), haha. His kid was wearing a "system of a down" black tshirt and black jeans. He had a spiked wristband on both arms. His hair was dyed jet black and down to his chin. He walked (shuffled) with his head down as tho he was embarrassed.

The kid was 10. I laughed so freaking hard and went home and hugged my 16 year old who wouldn't dream of looking like that.

My kid: 6 foot 3, 16 yrs old. Wears short spiked brown hair and all black. No wristband, and the only spikes on the kid are on his belt. His pants are PULLED UP and he picks up his feet when he walks (truly that is the best part). He is clean and smells nice (ok the cologne is a little strong sometimes). His only piercing is his eyebrow and I think it is cute on him. We even like the same music. The best part of my kid: he won't leave the house or my car without saying "I love you mom".

I have no kids of my own, although I call the students we help, "my kids". Sixty seven of them to be exact. I have met all of them, I make it a point to do so. They range from baggy pants with their underwear showing to yuppie style dressing, I found they all have one thing in common, their hormone levels.

Thank you. Make sure your son becomes aware of it, he's 16 and getting close. Tomorrow I'm meeting a student that is flying in from Ontario to attend a university in NYC. His mom thinks he will be mugged within ten minutes from leaving the airport, what a day I'm gonna have tomorrow 8O

Its open to all US and Canadian students. At the moment we have more Canadian students than US.

Any President is better than GWB, send him over!

My daughter is 13. She has Blonde and purple hair. She wears jeans and baggy shirts. or skirts with baggy shirts. She listens to Blink 182, Simple Plan, Offspring, Greenday.

For the most part we like the same music (except for the simple plan and blink 182)

Let's pose this question in another 3yrs and see if they're dressing the same......

My daughter was part of the 'grunge' generation in her teens (ten years ago). It was freakin' great from my point of view, 'cause the cool thing for the grunge types was to buy your clothes at second-hand stores, thrift shops, etc.... no designer stuff for her, no hit on the pocketbook for me. She was actually very creative at finding really neat stuff, too. She loved punk rock music in those days. Now she runs a dental office and is a very sharp-dressed woman, looks like she stepped right out of Vogue (except she still has a healthy aversion to designer labels worn on the outside, thank god). Still loves punk rock music.

My daughter is 7 and wanted blue streaks like Avril Lavigne. I said sure, temp dye would be ok, then she changed her mind. I wish she would stay 7 forever.

Arrgghhh I hate the prices of that store, my youngest shops there. She dress's just like your son ack and when she can't get the bucks from me she goes to her "step-in" parent. And she is only 14 OMG
