The Supreme Court on Thursday backed a Canadian Transportation Agency ruling ordering Canadian airlines to offer a free seat to certain disabled and obese people.
In a decision released without comment Thursday, Canada's top court rejected an application by Air Canada and WestJet for permission to appeal the January 2008 CTA ruling.
The court decision, in effect, upholds the agency's finding that the two carriers were discriminating against the disabled.
