I use firefox because i prefer to give as little as possible recognition to the evil micro$hite corporation TM, (r), (c)**

Unfortunately as i am sure we all know, any website that has bill gatess sticky fingers anywhere near it doesnt work properly with firefox, so i also run IE but only use it when i really have to.

RE: what browser do you u

I use both IE and firefox.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but is much of the security problem due to the fact that IE is still the most commonly used browser, and thus, the obvious one to attack? Or is it just plain old vulnerable due to shoddy design? Or both? I honestly don't know, which is why I ask.

All that said, I prefer firefox for a number of reasons. It is so easy to add new... add-ons. I love the one that lets you block out ads, images, and other things from appearing on a website. When you go to a certain website fairly often, it's much more pleasant not having the ads taking up space on the webpage or in your mind. It almost reminds me of the earlier days of the internet, when even the porn sites seemed more innocent.

The thing I hate most about firefox is the animated notifier thingy (for lack of a better word) that says "download complete" or "new version available". Does anyone know how to make it so they aren't animated? When system resources are fairly low, the download notifier popping up grinds things to a halt.

RE: what browser do you u

I used to use Netscape, but it began to get heavy and slow. Then I used IE until I found Firefox. It has so many nice options (tabbed browsing, security, extensions, etc...) that I only use IE when I need to. Ive tried other browsers, but theres not enough difference between firefox and them to justify the change.

There a handy extension for firefox which gives you a "view in IE" option when you right click

I've used Firefox for a year or two now,

and I quite like it. I just downloaded the Firefox 2.0 beta 2

The spell check and correction features are excellent.

My preferred Web browser would be Microsoft® Internet Explorer®.

Now, before I am stoned to death for having said so ...

I prefer this Web browser because it is widely supported on the Web, its security is constantly being upgraded through Windows® Update, in addition to far less encoding problems, in my opinion (language encoding — sometimes browsers such as FireFox seem to have issues with Japanese input and output).

Yup...Agree with that! Try Firefox on some of the online scans.

I downloaded Firefox and have been testing it around on my computer, the only problem I have is it lags badly where as IE doesn't.

To update mine I use IE 6.0 and Firefox

Where exactly do you find Firefox to lag? My only real complaint with firefox is due to it being a memory hog, I think it has some sort of memory leak in it. Currently, firefox is using 245mb of RAM, which is ridiculous.

I've got both IE7 & FF2.0 running on my computer but FF is my default.
I switched to IE7 for about a week; until Firefox 2.0 came out.
I just find that FF runs much smoother and I do not have the same problems with multiple tabs with FF as I do with IE7.
