Poirot is on now.

The murder victim grabbed hold of a pom-pom on the murderer's harlequin costume just when he was about to die to give the authorities a clue as to the identity of the murderer. The detective Poirot found the pom-pom clenched in the corpse's fist.

It's lucky he wasn't killed his Uncle Dick.
Did you mean 'his Uncle's dick'??

watched the Philadelphia Mummer's Parade & part of Rose Parade
Good stuff. My wee wifie put on the Rose Parade and we watched until the choo-choo float broke down and caught fire.

Had to leave so that my son could make a flying jump in the lake!

I think I'll watch this in about an hour's time.

Victoria

Season 3, episode 1

Uneasy Lies the Head that Wears the Crown

The period drama resumes in 1848, a tumultuous year in which several European nations embraced revolution - placing the British monarchy under pressure. Victoria, Albert and their young family find themselves taking in refugees, when the queen's half-sister Feodora (Harlots' Kate Fleetwood) and a king who has been overthrown come to the palace seeking sanctuary. John Sessions and Laurence Fox (Lewis) join the cast as current and future prime ministers Lord John Russell and Lord Palmerston.

Two freebies i’ve watched recently. Both available on STARZ.

Free Solo

An excellent exploration into the character and culture of free soloing; rock climbing without ropes, pinions or safety harnesses. It is centred on the historic ascent of El Capitan in Yosemite by Alex Honnold in 2017. Even though one knows the outcome it is nailbiting. Beautiful cinematography, and, a very intimate portrait of Alex by fellow rock climber Jimmy Chin.

Roger Waters and the Wall

Waters lost his grandfather in the Battle of the Somme in 1916, and his father in Battle of Monte Casino in Italy in 1944. This is a moving meditation and tribute to the fallen, released on the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War, enshrined in a stunning, audio visual extravaganza and performance of the Pink Floyd catalogue.

Now I watch the TV-show Twilight Hunters based on a series of books from the genre of urban fantasy, Cassandra Clare. The TV-show is terrible. I started watching it after watching a movie of the same name based on the same series of books. The film was great, it's a pity that the project was closed so soon.

"1917"

Upcoming British war movie based on real events.

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack by hundreds of soldiers, Blake’s own brother among them.

Pick another Canadian historic figure who saved the day, (like that RN beach officer in Dieppe who directed the evacuation of 300,000 men onto ships, boats) and turn him into an "Englishman" for the consumption of the punters back in Blighty?

3am here, but I'm watching live MLS - Minnesota United vs LA Galaxy - on Freesports (Channel 64).

Still 0-0 after 56 minutes, but Minnesota should have scored just now.
