Every time the US economy hiccups the result is the mobilization for another war so our industrial might will have a customer. Thinks about the history of the wars the US has entered into and then look at the economic woes at the time the troops loaded up for deployment. Our industrial machine can quickly convert to a war time manufacturing complex when needed. look at Singer Sewing Machines, Lionel Trains and others. They all are either arms makers or instrument makers.

I think the economy can only handle so much war machine.....
they might have over done war machine.....

this economy melt down is actually to do with overspending on credit....it was inevitable...all this credit handed out ..then the banks start hiking up the cost ......

If pakistan isn't allowed to send troops into the region, why force them to send people at all.

Send in your own troops and have the Pakistani troops say "Sorry Pashtun, we aren't allowed in there"

Excellent analysis of part of Bush's imperialistic campaign in Iraq. Note how his war has created enormous profits from his warmongering allies in Halliburton, Bechtel, and others. It illustrates the Republican motto: ''you pay, we profit''.

It took a long time but, luckily, the majority of Americans have now awakened to his evil scheming and this is why Bush cannot get support for his planned invasion of Iran. He will likely wait for the November election in order to minimize the impact on his war party before he makes any move, however. Time will tell.

Hopefully, those majority of Americans will go out there and protest until the White House is surronded by hordes of faces if war occurs between U.S. and Iran. We can only hope and I hope that you will be one of those faces. I will come to :D

However, I believe that industry in U.S. is not doing so well as you think because its just not visible!
I don't see poor Americans hording into factories. The mortgage crisis continues and citizens are losing homes! So, according to my analysis, this war profits CEO and top executives.
Also, the American businesses that are going into Iraq is heavily subsidies by the government and whatever happens, the government will pay for their misfortune. That's right. They are using TAX PAYERS MONEY to pay for the damages for the industry and corporation and they make PROFIT out of it. Therefore, government is PAYING them with you're money.
So I cannot see how Americans are benefiting from this war. If anything, the deficit is the answer.

Nothing is as funny as an anti-war dem trying to sound tough about terrorism.

Ya, I think Obama has outed himself as just another wannabe Pres who is using the idea that Americans are actually in danger of Islamic radicals - I don't see much suicide bombing at the Mall of America, and its been 6 years now since 9/11 - where is the danger? Wheres the threat? . [and don't tell me its cuz they have such good security that not one individual could strap a backpack with a $200 bomb in it and walk into a mall]
