Don't have a flu shot, I don't care. But please do two things: one, stay home from work when you get sick; two, please get your kids vaccinated; polio is a distant memory to most of us for a good reason. There's a good reason that life expectancies are way up, and avoidable childhood diseases are rare.

Mess up your own life if you want, but please give your kids a chance.

If you are a healthy adult, there's not much use in getting a flu shot, at least not with the relatively minor strains that we get most years. If we get a killer strain, and we're due for one, then the story changes.

You can likely skip it for a lot of older shildren too...ask your doctor.

Polio and so on are an entirely other matter. Some of these diseases kill and cripple with incredible efficiency. Make sure your kids get vaccinated.

If you have a problem with contaminants in vaccines, then go after the government to tighten up regulations.

I have not had one in ages. I think people with diabetes or other immune problems and seniors are the ones who should probably get them.

I've never had a flu shot, but I've been healthy and relatively young so far. They didn't give them to us when we were kids...I'm not sure if they didn't exist or whether the usage was just extremely limited back then.

If you want a vaccine that'll make you sick, get a rabies vaccine. People who work in vet's offices have to have them and apparently that's no picnic.

I've never had a flu shot, because I'm not at high risk. But people with reduced immune systems, either asthma or other respiratory problems, or the elderly, should have a flu shot.

The trick to dealing with big corporations is to limit their political power, then make anything bad they do adversely affect their bottom line. Right now they get financial rewards for making things worse because of their political influence.
