Britain performed its usual pomp and pageantry as it today welcomed the Emperor and Empress of Japan for a State Visit.

The Japanese Head of State Emperor Naruhito and his wife Empress Masako were given a warm welcome by British Head of State King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla.

Also in attendance were British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Foreign Secretary David Cameron and Home Secretary James Cleverley.

The King - looking splendid in a top hat - and the Emperor inspected the troops.

Recalling the days when Anglophile Emperor Naruhito, 64, who ascended the Chrysanthemum Throne on 1st May 2019, who is on his third day of his State Visit to Britain but only today met the King and Queen, studied at Oxford University between 1983 and 1986 studying "the history of transportation on the Thames" and was seen regularly riding bicycles around the city. The State Visit is to last another five days.

The Japanese Emperor has visited Britain with a mission to strengthen ties between the two countries he loves...

Prince William, who recently celebrated his 42nd birthday, is praised for his diplomacy as World War II enemies Britain and Japan forge a close friendship amid a time of rising global tensions.

The two countries - amongst the world's biggest economies - see how important it is to have good ties.

The Prince of Wales and future King proved his worth to the country again as the Anglophile Japanese Emperor and former Oxford University student paid a visit.
