When Germany came calling, asking to buy Canadian natural gas to replace its Russian supplies, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau refused, despite the global climate and security benefits, as well as revenues for Canadians producers and jobs for Canadian workers. Canada was Germany’s first choice, but given an aversion to freezing in the dark, another choice had to be found when Canada refused to be a helpful ally.

Qatar is not a German ally, but was willing to be helpful.

Thus Europe’s largest economy has agreed to buy Qatari natural gas for 15 years. It will begin to flow to Germany in 2026. Untold billions will flow in the other direction.

And, should the Qataris decide to continue their Hamas patronage, both in theatre and on campus overseas, some of that money will be used for that purpose. It’s possible that, blinded by climate zealotry — much like the Tides Foundation — the Trudeau government could NOT see two steps ahead on the strategic and security implications. But it is likely that the Germans told our government that a Canadian refusal might mean the Qatari option.

It is possible to imagine the Trudeau government delighted by the 50,000 walking in Toronto, leaving their cars behind, perhaps employing shallow breathing to reduce their CO2 emissions. The pro-Hamas screamers seemed to be high CO2 emitters. That might earn them more attention from the federal government.
It could have been Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon too but....

By the time we have a change of government, it’ll be a day late and $400,000,000,000.00 short…the unintended (?) consequences of woke climate choices? Oh well…
LGBT people in same-sex couples are at greater risk of exposure to the negative effects of climate change compared to straight couples. LGBT people in same-sex couples are disproportionately located in coastal areas and cities.

Yeah, it's not like the US doesn't have another 9 million sq miles of space to live in. You choose to live in coastal areas you get what comes with the territory.

Trudy's goal is to make us much poorer so that we can rely on governments rather than be self-sufficient. In that way, the fact they want to control speech, where we can go & how to think makes sense doesn't it?
Yep, he's a just a neo-Marxist Ken Doll who is the "master" of performative caring.

Naturally, I expect Ezra Levant to be his #1 cheerleader.

Trudeau is set to sign an energy development agreement largely focused on hydrogen with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during Scholz's visit to Canada next week.

Europe, and Germany in particular, are heavily reliant on Russian oil and gas and are desperately seeking both short and long-term alternatives.

Trudeau says Canada has increased its oil and gas outputs but cannot realistically do much to change the energy crunch in the short term.

But longer-term, he says Canada's hydrogen and critical minerals strategies are aimed at making the country one of the world's biggest net-zero energy suppliers.

To date and in any reasonable time frame, there is no commercially effective method of extracting H² from water, LNG, methane etc. Nor from pixie farts!
In addition, the H² molecule is by far the smallest molecule and is thus the most prone to leak.

H² leaks are very explosive. Much more so than batteries which' 'merely' burn.
Guarantee that hydrogen will never be available In any commercial sense.
The Germans demonstrated incredible stupidity shutting down their nukes and solely relying on Czar Putrid for oil.
And only Trudeau would be dumb enough to think anyone can supply H² in any meaningful amount.

The clown just has to to be exiled to the Arctic Coast. Permanently.
