MP Sir David Davis (Con; Goole and Pocklington) has received a round of applause from Northern Ireland veterans during a House of Commons Westminster Hall debate.

Davis attacked Labour Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer over the prosecution of Northern Ireland veterans. One of Starmer's previous jobs was Head of the Crown Prosecution Service.

In this great democracy, House of Commons Westminster Hall debates are held twice a week within the oldest part of Britain's Houses of Parliament. They allow backbench MPs to debate issues that are worrying them and to receive a reply from the Government.

Davis is attacking the Government over its treatment of the NI vets.

As the Northern Ireland veterans applauded Davis they were given a ticking off because clapping is forbidden in the British Houses of Parliament! It's viewed as being vulgar and therefore is something that should not be performed within the British Parliament.

However, all credit to Davis and the vets.
