It's almost one year exactly since the Labour Party swept to power in Britain for the first time in 15 years after they won the General Election in a landslide on 4th July 2024.

Last week in the Commons during Prime Minister's Questions, Tory leader and Leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch left Chancellor of the Exchequer (Finance Minister) Rachel Reeves in tears as Badenoch launched devastating attacks against the Government.

Badenoch was brutal in her role of taking the Government to account.

The pound slumped against the dollar just after Reeves cried.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer defended his U-turn on welfare cuts as hundreds of Labour rebel MPs voted against them along with Tories and those of other parties.

Labour rebel Ian Lavery (Blyth and Ashington) says that Starmer's U-turn should not weaken Labour but should "strengthen" the Government.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves was left in tears after Leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch launched a devastating attack on her and her boss - Prime Minister Keir Starmer - failed to say he will not sack her.

Reeves "looked really poorly", said Lavery. "The last thing we want is MPs with that kind of stress and falling apart on TV", said the Labour MP who voted against the Government.

The Commons voted in favour of of a watered-down benefits bill by 335 votes to 260.

Breaking News: British Finance Minister left in tears after mauling by Leader of the Opposition and a failure by her boss the PM to say she won't be sacked

I've had a few beers. This didn't happen last week. It happened today.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves was in tears in the Commons after she was destroyed by Leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch and Prime Minister Keir Starmer won't guarantee Reeves' future.

Reeves has been responsible for attempting to cut winter fuel allowances for the elderly, an unpopular policy which Starmer subsequently overturned, as well as other things.

In scenes which some people may find disturbing, the impressive Badenoch destroyed Reeves and left her with tears rolling down her cheeks.

British politics is rough.

Reform leader and GB News presenter Nigel Farage gives his verdict

Breaking News: 11 Downing Street says Chancellor is dealing with personal and private matters

11 Downing Street - the official residence of the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Finance Minister) - says Rachel Reeves is "dealing with personal and private matters."

Rumours abound that Rachel Reeves had a "verbal fight" with Commons Speaker Lindsay Hoyle today

Pound falls against the dollar and euro after British Finance Minister breaks down in Parliament

My opinion is that Britain is a democracy and the people, through their MPs, are about to oust an unpopular Chancellor
