Is it legal to use (download files )torrent in Canada?

Its not the method of transfer (Torrents or peer2peer file sharing) that is illegal, its some the stuff that is shared (copywrite laws and such)

Im not 100% sure, but I think its legal to download in Canada, but not to upload.
