The cops say he fired at them first. The news report says he was unarmed. If he was unarmed, this was murder straight and simple. And if the cops had started firing into the car unprovoked and I was the driver, I would also have got out and tried to run.

95 bullets 60 hit the kid.

This wasn’t a shooting but an execution
95 bullets 60 hit this guy? So 35 didn’t hit him. Where did those 35 shots go? Is one of those 35 shots the one police claim was shot at them by an unarmed suspect?

I know nothing about this incident as I’ve been off the grid for the last several days.

Where did they go? Tearing through an inhabited area, that's where.

But frankly, 60 out of 95 is pretty good shooting for handgun under stress. They allegedly elite "jump-out" team that murdered Amadou Diallo in New York City got 19 out of 41 at a range of about five metres. It took Jonathan Aledda three shots with an AR-15 to get one hit on Charles Kinsey, and he claimed he was shooting at the person next to Kinsey.

Leastways hereabouts, in my experience at the range, cops are no better shots than the general run.

Weird question from in this case the uneducated as I haven’t read a story about this yet and time is going to slip away on me very quickly this morning.

To have 95 shots fired…. these were fired by how many officers? just doing the math did anybody have to stop and reload in order to continue on in order to hit this guy 60 times?

Was it 100 cops each firing an average of once (?) or 50 cops each firing an average of twice (?) or 25 cops each firing an average of four times? That sorta math question….maybe 10 cops firing an average of 10 shots each?

Waiting for this to sort out, but evidence in a murder of two unarmed Black people who had committed no crime in Cleveland showed that Michael Brelo, one of the 13 officers who fired a total of 135 shots, reloaded three times.

Six cops were fired: five have been reinstated by an arbitrator. All were acquitted of all charges.

I’ve gotta be at work in half an hour so I just did a quick Wikipedia:

After about ten seconds of chasing Walker, eight police officers opened fire for six or seven seconds,[5] shooting approximately 90 rounds.[11] Police said that it appeared Walker was turning towards them, and they believed he was armed and "moving into a firing position".[7]

Following the shooting, Walker was put in handcuffs by police and was found with his hands cuffed behind his back when EMTsarrived on the scene.[12] According to police, officers attempted to administer first aid to Walker after he was shot.[5] Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.[5][7] The medical examiner observed 60 gunshot wounds were found on Walker's body, with some uncertainty based on entrance and exit wounds.[5][6][7] No firearm was found on Walker's body.

So….weird question, with a suspect whose hands are cuffed behind his back and has approximately 60 bullet wounds, how did the officers on scene attempt first aid???

I’m going to assume they mean CPR (?) which would be compressions to the chest with his hands cuffed behind his back? With 60 bullet wounds approximately, wouldn’t that be like wringing out a sponge at best especially with his arms handcuffed behind his back??? Doesn’t that statement sound false? Attempting to administer first aid I mean?

I think the key word is attempt and its definition. If you walk up to the guy and say I can't do anything this could be construed as an attempt.

The motivation is almost certainly that cop training and briefings have lately emphasized the duty to attempt to render aid to somebody you've just shot, replacing the former guidance of "That was pretty stressful for you. Why don't you relax with a sugary baked product and a nice cup of java?"

And cops, being clever lads, have reconciled these two conflicting trainings with "OK, we'll grab the coffee and donut and LIE about the whole first-aid thing. We signed up to be goons, not EMTs."
