I had some friends that used to play crib incessantly. Eventually they turned it into a full contact sport, which made it hard to sit on their chesterfield, watching their TV and drinking their beer.

As an armchair lexicographer, I find Scrabble to be a far more engaging pastime than cribbage... 8)

That doesn't sound like crib Rev!

These friends turned everything into a contact sport. I turned everything into an excuse to sit on their couch and drink their beer. I learned many useful things there...like how to repair holes in drywall and if that if you leave your camera unguarded you will end up with many, many pictures of somebody mooning the camera.

I never learned how to play crib though. All I know is, "15-2, 15-4 etc."

Why not try something that requires a little more savvy?

Say, arm wrestling

now I would pay to watch Peapod and Galianomama go at a bit of arm wrestling 8O

My god! what have I stumbled upon here?

Here I am ready to up sticks and move half-way across the world for ( what I assumed to be ) a high octane, thrill a minute, life of adventure in the wilds of Canada.

I come in here, in the hope that I can pick the brains of the hardiest, bravest and knowledgeable the country has to offer. Who using their wisdom and the ways of their ancestors can ease the difficulties I may face during this transition...........

....And what do I get?......................Crib, Scrabble & bloody BINGO!!!!
Jeez, its like an episode of the golden girls!!!!

Thank you, illusions well and truly shattered
