I remember in grade 12 poetry class...

My teacher stated that Sting's lyrics, "If you love somebody...if you love someone, set them free."...were grammatically incorrect The line should have properly read, "Set him or her free."

So I raised my hand and said, "But what if the Beatles had sung, "She loves you Yes Yes Yes"....instead of "She loves you Yeah Yeah Yeah!" I told my female teacher, you should never sacrifice feeling for grammar when writing a song.

She just glared at me and moved on to another topic. She failed me that year as well. I was the brightest student in the class, but my right-leanings pissed her off.

So everyone around me graduated because they just rode the wave and refused to stand up to her. I can't imagine how many young minds that woman warped.

This was in 1983, but it was the beginning of the Left's not being able to see the forest for the trees. It was the beginning of the end of free thought perpetuated by feminist liberal teachers.

And I remember it like it was yesterday.

I kind of know what you mean. In Grade 13 I took Family Studies, foolishly thinking it was going to be the study of the family unit and its history, habits, cultural mores etc. Man, I mean person, was I ever wrong. The bulk of the course was feminazi bullshit. And I'm not taking about equal rights, I'm talking pure, unadulterated, man-hating feminism.

The first time I ever saw woman/women spelled with a "y" was in that class. When I asked the teacher why she spelled it that way, I got the standard "over-bearing patriarchy" crap. When I pointed out that in genetics, the presence of a Y chromosome indicated a male, well let's just say if looks could kill. NO friggin' sense of humour at all man. I mean, person.
Needless to say I ended up dropping the class since I had no intention of studying it further at university anyway. I basically took it as a time filler and because I thought it might be interesting.

It was enjoyed in my smoke time votes.
