The candidates' pledge.

Seeing how so many candidates are showing such contempt for the concept of coalitions (the same contempt a kindergartener might express towards working together with other kids in the playground and paying nice out of fear of looking weak), which runs the risk, should we end up with no party winning a majority of seats in parliament, of all parties fearing to work together, thus increasing the chance of yet another election in a year's time.

One solution I could see would be to get our local candidates to make a pledge, going maybe something like this:

"I pledge to my constituents that, at the end of this election, should no party win a majority of seats in the House of Commons, an insufficient number of MPs (either individually or through their respective parties) publicly express a desire to work together to form a majority coalition, and the party of which I am a member refuse to join in a majority coaltion, I shall personally withdraw my membership from my party, sit as an independent MP, and as an independent MP publicly express my desire to join in a majority coalition on the condition that the coalition welcome all independent MPs to both the coalition and to its caucus."

Any MP who refuses to make and hold to such a pledge, regardless of his party affiliation, could not later turn around in another election should it occur in a year's time and pretend he did not want an election.

Any other ideas on this, or even on how to sord such a pledge so as to be reasonable to all candidates regardless of party affiliation?

I wonder how many here would view it as a negative though that an MP should wish to work with Parliament instead of against it.
