The Brexit Gamble?

I can see one possible very positive outcome for Brexit:

1. Unilateral free trade. In other words, unilaterally abrogate all tariffs.

2. Visa-free travel.

Should no EU country budge on this, the UK will suffer. However, should other countries decide to also leave the EU and unilaterally go tariff-free, that might benefit the UK.

As for the second point of visa-free travel, that's primitive compared to free movement of people allowing them to even work visa-free, but it would protect at least the UK's tourism industry. It's more open trade with other exiting EU states and the rest of the world might compensate for its weaker immigration policy due to no more import tariff at all.

All of this is conditional on at least a few other major EU states leaving the EU and doing the same.

The UK won't suffer outside the EU. The EU is not needed in the world and is doomed to break up in the not-too-distant future.

As for all the options available to Britain, it's all too complicated for me to get my head around (I'm not an economist) but the UK should do what some British official has suggested - Theresa May should activate Article 50 NOW and then get the UK out of the EU straight away, rather than spending up to two years partaking in negotiations, and then see what happens. I've got a feeling that if Theresa May pulled Britain out of the EU tomorrow then everything will still be fine. The EU will come running to Britain with its begging bowl.
