I didn't watch it in its entirety due to my working schedule, but I did catch some of it, and I did watch highlights on the news.

The funniest portion of the debate was when Paul Martin accussed Jack Layton of being against "a woman's right to choose".

LOL!

Jack, probably not realizing right away that the attack was a case of Martin confusing him with Stephen Harper, made a passionate rebuttal, with a sense of "What the heck are you getting on with, Paul?! You're accusing ME of being pro-life?!"

This humourous mis-step aside, it amazes me that Paul Martin is actually bringing up the abortion issue in this election campaign. The issue is almost dead and buried in Canada, and Harper himself hasn't said a signal word on the issue the entire campaign to the best of my knowledge (nor have the NDP). This is the political equivalent of grasping at straws if ever there was one!

Overall, the French debate seemed to be simply a continuation of the Enligh debate with much of the same result, though Harper was attacked a bit more in this one. Nonetheless, he seemed to hold his ground to me.

Any comments on the debate from my fellow posters here? :)

What's wrong with the CBC? There's an election going on and every time I tune to CBC Newsworld there's a 'canned' documentary on some obscure issue on the other side of the world. Also, their website is craps. Where the heck does that billion dollars go?

I now turn to CTV news station first and CBC by default now and again. Talk about a turkey.

(I still like CBC radio).
