I always suspected that exposing oneself to the UV rays of a tanning bed was a very bad idea and now the Canadian Cancer Society seems to have backed up my suspicions. Apparently tanning beds are not only not a good idea they are a very good way to end up with skin Cancer.

Fake & Bake. One of the most dangerous things you can do I think. I have read articles in the past that state the tanning beds ruin the immune system. My son's ex continually (daily) uses tanning beds. Told her years ago about the immune system problem. She laughed at us. She turned 40 yesterday and -while she has been working out (turning 40 is a horror story to her) and is truly nice and trim, she looks like a young 50 year old. Her skin is all leathery and since we only see her by a fluke now, coming upon her and noticing the skin and age look, is quite a shock. Years ago it did give her that "healthy glow". Not anymore. Probably not a lot different than the snowbirds who come around bragging about "just getting home from the south" and they too have old leathery looking skin.
