For California Congresswoman Katie Hill, it was a swing and a miss.
The Democrat is under fire for a series of lurid allegations regarding her colourful sex life.
Hill has been accused of living in a threesome arrangement and carrying on sexual affairs with both male and female staffers.
On Thursday, the Daily Mail published a story that included nude photos of the 32-year-old politico, who has previously said she is bisexual.

Now, according to The Washington Post, her legal eagles are demanding that the Mail remove the nude photos it claims are Hill. She is threatening legal action if the tabloid fails to pull them.
The Washington-based law firm PerkinsCoie referred to the images as “spurious nude photos purported to be of” Hill and said she is “prepared to take all necessary means to protect her rights and to protect herself from an unprecedented, unwarranted and extraordinarily offensive invasion of personal privacy.”
The site published a story Thursday about the California Democrat’s personal life. One of the photos it claims are Hill shows her with a Nazi-era tattoo.
The site’s story followed one published Wednesday by the conservative website RedState alleging that Hill, 32, had been in a three-person relationship that included her husband and a female campaign aide.
It also said she was in a romantic relationship with a member of her congressional staff — an accusation the House Ethics Committee is investigating.
RedState also published a nude photo allegedly of Hill.
Her lawyers disputed the claim that Hill has “Nazi imagery on her body in the form of a tattoo (and it) is false and defamatory.”
It is unclear whether her legal team will also send that website a similar letter demanding it be taken down.
The attorneys, who addressed their letter to Candance Trunzo, executive editor of DailyMail.com, said the publication sent Hill a message before publication asking whether she wished to comment on its “professed intention to distribute lewd images of her, of unknown and unverified provenance.”
They wrote that Hill’s now-estranged husband had been emotionally abusive for years and that “spreading these purported claims, and dehumanizing and shaming images across the globe, you have perpetuated the cycle of abuse Representative Hill has endured.”
Hill and her husband, Kenny Heslop, have filed for divorce.
Hill is a freshman rising star in the Democratic Party who won a Republican-strong seat in 2018 to help the Democrats take the majority of the House. She is a junior member of the Democrats’ leadership team with a powerful post on the House Oversight Committee.
She has acknowledged that she had been in an “inappropriate” relationship with a campaign aide, but she has denied that she’s had a romantic affair with a congressional staffer, which would be against the House’s code of conduct.
