If they wind up going to war with Russia 4000 conscripts won’t help them. Hell, 40,000 wouldn’t.

Sweden is a member of a less formal alliance with NATO. I forget the name of it and too lazy to look it up right now, but it's not like Sweden just sits alone.

They could get them in a matter of weeks, I would say.

They wouldn't need them. I can guarantee that Europe would be fully mobilized long before Russia reaches Sweden, with French and British nukes on full alert by then with twitchy fingers along with the US.

The British and French would consider Scandinavia to be their outer defence perimeter.

I think there's quite a few countries that have the capability that aren't considered "nuclear nations" simply because they haven't announced it or test fired one. Wouldnt be at all surprised if Canada had a few.

That would surprise me.

I suppose Russia could sweep through Finland to reach Sweden quickly enough but not by surprise. If it starts to mobilize forces along the Finnish border, it would tip Nato off that something's up. If it just storms through from distance, that would be a somewhat chaotic entry that would slow it down. Either way, Finland would be hit hard before Russia reached Sweden and chances are Sweden would be assisting Finland on Finnish soil

Canada used to have a lot of nukes ... Bomarc, Genie, nuclear depth charges, nuclear 155mm artillery shells, nuclear land mines ...

Countries with super-sophisticated technological capabilities could put nukes together in jig time ... Japan ... Germany ... South Korea?

I agree that Finland would be hardest hit but Russia couldn't sweep through Finland even if they wanted too. Finns are born to be ready against Russia.

Finland used to be part of Russia. Then again, so was the Ukraine and look what happened to them. Russia wants their old empire back.

So do the Chinese, for that matter.

The Ukrainians and Baltic states aren't comparable to Finland.

The Finns are the only ones who stood up to Russia and retained their sovereignty and thus avoided being absorbed like the other Baltic nations.

Even today the Russians won't **** with the Finns, because of the Finnish determination for independence.

They had a little help from the Third Reich, mind you. (In fairness, the Germans were the only ones who came to Finland's aid.)
