What is the significance of the colour of the little pawn-shaped thing in the top right corner of each post?

I would have searched for it but i suspect a search for "little pawn-shaped thingie" wouldn't have got me far

If it's green that member is online. If it's red they're not.

uhhh wait a sec... you did mean the little icon in the LEFT corner, not the right... right? The one beside the members' name? Otherwise I've no idea what other pawn shaped thingy you'd be referring to...

don't know my left from my right. that's exactly what i meant, and i should have guessed that too.

also explains why i've never seen mine red.
