Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin’s parents have settled their lawsuit with Fiat Chrysler bosses over their son’s death.
The 27-year-old actor was crushed by his Jeep at his home in Los Angeles in June 2016, and his parents claimed a faulty gear shift system was to blame for the driveway tragedy.
Authorities ruled Yelchin had accidentally put the car in neutral as he stepped out to retrieve some mail, and he was pinned against a security gate when the vehicle rolled down a steep driveway.
His Jeep model had actually been recalled so mechanics could fix the faulty shift at the time of the accident.
Chrysler bosses insisted the tragedy was Yelchin’s fault, but now they’ve agreed to settle with the family.
The settlement is confidential, according to TMZ.
